MIKS Students Shine at Peace World Cup Tournament 2024

On 2nd June 2024, the spirit of unity, sportsmanship, and youthful enthusiasm came alive at the Peace World Cup Tournament, where students from MIKS Academy participated and competed across multiple categories. Held in a vibrant and energetic atmosphere, the tournament brought together schools, children, and communities to celebrate not just football, but peace and togetherness.

MIKS was proudly represented in several categories—Under 14, Under 16, and Under 18, with both boys and girls teams showcasing their skills, teamwork, and unwavering determination on the pitch. The tournament served as more than just a competition; it was a powerful reminder that sports can unite us across cultures, languages, and backgrounds.

Every participating student left with at least a medal, a proud token of their effort, discipline, and positive spirit throughout the event. While goals were scored and trophies won, the true victory was in the friendships formed, the lessons learned, and the values shared.

“Peace World Cup is not just about who wins on the field—it’s about creating moments of joy, unity, and respect among children and schools,” said one of the organizers. “We are incredibly proud of the way MIKS students represented their school, showing great character both on and off the field.”

MIKS Celebrates the Graduation of 10 New Coiffures

In its continued commitment to skills development and youth empowerment, MIKS Academy proudly announces the successful graduation of ten dedicated students from its recently concluded Hairdressing Training Program. The six-week intensive course ran from 22nd April to 30th May 2025, equipping students with foundational and advanced techniques in hairdressing, customer care, and salon management.

Led by the experienced and passionate Madam Emmah, the training offered a transformative learning journey. From mastering the basics of hair care to practicing complex styling techniques, students were immersed in hands-on sessions designed to boost both competence and confidence.

“The dedication shown by these students was truly inspiring,” said Madam Emmah. “They were eager to learn, determined to succeed, and supportive of one another. I am incredibly proud of their growth.”

 

The program culminated in a vibrant graduation ceremony held on Friday, 30th May 2025, where students received certificates of participation in recognition of their hard work, discipline, and remarkable progress. The event was filled with celebration, laughter, and a sense of accomplishment. Friends, family, staff, and community members gathered to honor the students, with memorable moments captured through group and individual photo sessions.

The ten graduates of the program are:
Hnem, Tabitha, Khey, Tar Win, Hanan, Nabel, Timothy, Jackie, Johan, and Biak.

    

  

These talented individuals now join a growing network of MIKS-trained professionals who are ready to contribute meaningfully to the beauty and personal care industry, both locally and beyond. Many of the graduates have expressed aspirations of starting their own salons, working in established beauty centers, or continuing further studies in other areas of skill development.

MIKS extends its heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Choi and Ms. Mary for their generous support and belief in the program’s mission. Their contributions have made it possible for these students to gain not just practical skills, but also the confidence to build a better future for themselves and their communities.

The Faisal Cup 2021 turned out to be an unforgettable and triumphant event for the MIKS community, as students showcased exceptional sportsmanship, teamwork, and talent across various competitions. Held with great enthusiasm and energy, the tournament featured a range of sports including football, volleyball, and more, welcoming participation from both boys and girls representing different institutions.

Students from MIKS competed fiercely and passionately in every category, displaying discipline, determination, and unity throughout the tournament. Their preparation and dedication were evident in each match, drawing praise from spectators and organizers alike. From strategic plays on the football field to powerful serves on the volleyball court, MIKS athletes left their mark at every stage of the competition.

The highlight of the event came when the MIKS team emerged as the overall winner of the Faisal Cup 2021, clinching the title and bringing home the prestigious trophy. This victory stands as a testament to the school’s commitment not only to academic excellence but also to the holistic development of its students through sports and extracurricular engagement.

TCS goIT Mobile App Development Workshop 2025

Empowering Students with Real-World Tech Skills

The TCS goIT Mobile App Development Workshop, sponsored by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), was held on February 12th, 13th, and 14th, 2025 at Dewan Perdana Siswa 1, located in Kompleks Perdanasiswa, Universiti Malaya, Kuala Lumpur. This exciting three-day event offered students a unique opportunity to dive into the world of mobile technology and innovation.

Representing MIKS at the workshop were five dedicated students—Sing Pi, Abbas, Mary, Cing No, and Sterling—anchored by their mentor, Mr. Ola. The team enthusiastically took part in all sessions and was recognized for their effort and participation with official certificates of participation.

Organized as part of TCS’s global STEM initiative, the goIT program aims to equip young minds with critical design thinking, app development, and problem-solving skills. Throughout the workshop, participants collaborated in teams, worked closely with tech mentors, and designed mobile app prototypes focused on solving real-world challenges.

The event concluded with a project presentation and competition, where all participating teams showcased their final app ideas. The jury was thoroughly impressed with the quality, creativity, and professionalism of the student presentations. Not only were the app concepts innovative, but the students also demonstrated clear communication, teamwork, and attention to social impact.

The workshop was not only a learning platform but also an inspiration for students to explore future careers in technology. It provided exposure to industry tools and workflows, empowering students to think beyond the classroom and toward creating solutions for tomorrow.

MIKS ICT Expo 2023: Where Innovation Meets Creativity

The MIKS ICT Expo 2023 was a celebration of innovation, creativity, and digital skills, bringing together students from Ampang, Pudu, and Pandan Jaya centres to showcase their tech talents. With the theme “Exploring the Artistry of Technology”, the expo highlighted how young minds are merging technical skills with creative thinking to build impactful and original projects.

This year’s event saw enthusiastic participation from various student teams, including Hexagon, Dices, The Three Travelers, and Tech O, among others. Each team demonstrated their grasp of ICT concepts learned during the academic year—from digital storytelling and app development to interactive games, augmented reality, and ethical tech practices. The expo was not just a platform to display technical know-how, but also a chance for students to express their imagination, collaborate with peers, and present their projects to an audience of teachers, judges, and fellow learners.

One of the standout moments of the day came from Team Tech O, comprising students Win and AK from the Pudu centre. Their well-prepared and engaging delivery earned them the Best Presentation Award—a testament to their confidence, clarity, and passion for technology. They impressed the judges with their ability to explain complex processes in an accessible and enthusiastic manner.

But beyond awards, every team and participant walked away with something valuable—recognition for their hard work and a token of appreciation for their contributions. The event served as a motivational milestone for all students, encouraging them to continue exploring technology as a tool for learning, problem-solving, and personal growth.

🏆 2023 Student of the Year – Mi Aye Pyint Pyint Phyo

The 2023 Student of the Year award was proudly presented to Mi Aye Pyint Pyint Phyo, whose dedication to excellence was matched by her kind heart and unwavering commitment to school values. An exceptional student in every sense, Mi Aye stood out not only for her top academic performance but also for her compassionate nature and willingness to support classmates. She was frequently seen volunteering at school events and often took the initiative to organize study groups and peer-support activities.
